My son wants to be the polish sausage for Halloween and I can't find one anywhere! where did you find that pattern? Please help me :)

I did not use a pattern. I used green foam from the fabric store to hold the shape. I started with a piece of tan felt and then I just cut out shapes and used a hot glue gun to adhere them to the tan piece. I just looked at the pictures and tried to match them. Little by little it came together. The hat brims are pieces of cardboard covered and the noses are garbage bags stuffed with socks to hold the shape and then covered. The top part I put a piece of cardboard and then tried to create a shape of a hat with garbage bags. This was all done with felt and a hot glue gun. Once they were created flat I glued them to the foam using a spray foam glue. I am not a very artistic person so if I can do this anyone can! Good Luck!!!

Awesome costumes! I am going to give them a try for my boys. Did you use two pieces of foam to make it longer? I couldn't find foam that was wider across than 24 inches.

Joanns or any fabric store normally has large pieces of foam. For my oldest I did put two pieces together but be careful what glue you use.

I'm still a little unsure as to how you created the "form" of them, some sites say chicken wire, but clearly you didn't do that. We have 5 boys that are so wanting to do this and 5 moms that are not at all crafty-help! They look amazing.

I used a think foam you would maybe use for something like a chair cushion that I bought at Joannes. It was a little expensive. I had another mom mention using camping mats because they are light and not as expensive. I created them flat and then glued the fabric to the foam (the other mom had duct taped the mats together) that I had made into a cylinder. I then attached the hat's to help keep the shape of the cylinder.

how did you keep the foam in the cylinder shape? Ive done a similar costume and now my youngest want to be this but the one I made years ago is too big.

What glue did you used? I want to try it, but not sure what glue to get.

I used A LOT of hot glue on felt to felt. I used a spray adhesive for the felt to foam.
The green foam was stiff enough to make the cylinder I didn't have to use anything else. I think the hat part that the foam is attached to probably helps hold it together.
