Mr. Potato Head & Buzz Lightyear Costume

These are my adorable sons Carter (Buzz) & Luke (Potato), my son is obsessed with Toy Story's Buzz Lightyear so we found his costume & helmet at the Disney Store. We wanted brothers to be themed & since Luke is so young we looked for a Potato Head costume & couldn't find one small enough or cute enough so we made it! First started with a pattern for a sack like pumpkin costume but widened out the bottom to make it more like a potato shape. I blew up & printed a black line picture of Mr. Tater head on line & used to guide me to cut out the facial features out of felt. They were attached on with velcro so they could be switched around like the real toy. The shoes were hand traced & stuffed & sewn into the costume as well as the ears. The hat was the smallest one I could find then cut down & pinned to a black beanie hat so my little guy could wear it. His arms showed thru the holes so I dressed him in a long sleeve white onesie & last stuffed batting in with him when we dressed him! :)
