This homemade costume for kids entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Monica, the 'Mushroom' costume creator:
We love Halloween and wearing DIY costumes. I wanted something different for my grandbaby than a character costume. So I we decided to go with a mushroom. Crocheting is my hobby so this costume is done completely in crochet with added accesories. Since i crochet most of the items I already had all that was bought were the flowers, grass and butterflies. Materials used are yarn, fiber fill, flowers, grass and butterflies. I made a hat then added the mushroom part on top of the hat and filled it with fiber fill. The bottom is just a crochet dress. On the green part I added grass and flowers to give it more character and to finish it off added a couple of butterflies. My grandbaby is wearing the costume. Since she's been born between my daughter and I we make her 2 or 3 costumes a year. WE LOVE DIY
