Ostrich Costume

My 10 year-old son, Jonas, LOVES ostriches! We don't know what started the obsession or why, but ostriches are all he talks about. Naturally, he wanted to be an ostrich for Halloween. I made the basic shell of the costume out of pool noodles and duct tape, including the long neck. The head is a bent pop-tart box, the eyes are pingpong balls. I wrapped the noodles with furniture covering (easy to puncture, but tough to tear) then took strips of fabric and threaded them through, one at a time. The wings are made the same way, only with a foam center for a more dimensional look.
