This homemade costume for kids entered our 2012 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Kerrie, the 'Solar System' costume creator:
This is an original costume I came up with after my 8 year old decided he wanted to be "The Solar System" for Halloween this year. It is completely homemade and done mostly with fabric, foam and hot glue. We put battery operated mini lights between the foam and the fabric so the sun light up at night. The hat was made by pushing dowels through it and then hanging planets (made out of painted foam balls) from the dowels with wire slinkies.
He is going to dress in black and I will put glow-in-the dark stars all over his legs, arms and the neck area.
