A word from Zander, the 'Jack Dawson' costume creator:
This Halloween, my heart went on. Following a severe love for The Titanic, specifically it's leading make Leonardo Dicaprio, Jack Dawson made his debut in New York City. Being an acting major, I have high regards for the famous actor, and very much so get told I resemble him, especially in the hair. Instead of usually rejecting such theories, this year I went with it. Fully decked out head to toe in suspenders, coudoroys, handcuffs, pencil in hear, the "hair", and even a sketch of the famous "Rose" College companions and city go goers alike couldn't stop snapping photos of me as I posed on the Brooklyn bridge at sunset shouting "I'm the king of the world". Undoubtedly Jack was flying this Halloween. Plenty More pictures available ! This costume was made by exploring New York City thrift stores and adjusting accordingly. Originally I did not find any of the needed items I desired. However I made what they had work! Originally the suspenders were tree green. A very ibflaterring color. However visiting the local spray paint store, and a very sketch trip down an alley, I was able to masking tape over the brass and respect the suspenders, giving them a new authentic look to them. Secondly I cut the color of a tuxedo shirt., removed the tuxedo ridges, and tea stained it to the color I desire. And finally I sowed on buttons to the pants to support the wrong sized courdoroy pant that I found. Sure, my waist was like a hula hoop, but the suspenders made sure to fix the issue. Finally, I or chased a pair of handcuffs, to iced the links connecting them, purchased a sketch book, pencil and pen, and printed out the famous rose sketch from the internet, later custom adding shade to add realism. And that's bow I did it!
