A word from James, the 'The Dark Gargoyle' costume creator:
I am wearing the actual costume. I got the idea from the old cartoon "Gargoyles". I purchased a latex eyes/forehead piece and a prosthetic chin piece. I purchased black latex paint and black acrylic paint and i did a 50/50 mix and painted the pieces. I glued them onto my face and then painted multiple layers of latex paint until the seams were not visable. I then used black grease paint and eye makeup to finish the rest. I purchased latex finger tips and painted those black and when they dried, i painted a gloss clear topcoat on the nail parts. Then cut holes in the fingers of my winter gloves and used that to cover my hands with the nails attached. I created the black cape out of fabric bought from a store. I finished the costume with bright blue contacts purchased through my eye doctor's office.
