A word from Joshua, the 'Yoshi' costume creator:

Dad is wearing the Yoshi costume. Costume is four parts. 1) two shoes, 2) body with built in hands/gloves, 3) Head. The materials needed are felt, foam, tape, zipper, slippers, helmet and fan. The shoes are made of felt and foam with regular "flip-flops". The bottoms have rubber treads. The body is made of felt, foam and zipper. Yoshi has four fingers. The fingers are built in as part of the costume and not added gloves. This encapsulates the user. The foam is used to form the belly. Tape is used inside to support the seams. Zipper is installed in back from top to just above the tail. The tail is foam, shaped. The head is foam formed and felt wrapped. Inside is a "consturction" helmet "guts", set in styrofoam helmet. A battery operated fan is glued to the inside helmet. Mesh is used in the mouth so you can see out. I didn't calculate on how heavy the head would be- specifically the "snout". The weight of the "snout", closes the mouth making it difficult to see out. I had to improvise using plastic casings to hold the mouth open. Looks like Yoshi is eating something. LOL You need help to get into the costume and zip up. Getting out of the costume is easier.

This has to be the best Yoshi costume I've ever seen! Do you have any more photos or videos of it? I would love to see the costume from more angles.

I know it's been 3 years since this was made but do you think it would be possible if I could pay/commission you to make another Yoshi mascot costume? Since I would assume you wouldn't want to sell the one you have now.
