Sunny Side Up Costume

Who is wearing:
Our dog Sunny is in the costume (although I bet many of you thought it was real).

Where did the idea come from?
Well, it was a bit organic but quickly the idea began to sizzle. Aside from the obvious pun on his name, the costume seemed to really fit him. For one thing, he's always cracking us up. Even during the photoshoot he was calm... I wouldn't say over easy, but certainly nothing could scramble him. The best part about Sunny is that he's a good egg and doesn't mind being the target of all our yolks.

We made the "yolk" by forming foil around a bowl then layering strips of paper towels dipped in water and flour on top of it. We let it dry it out in the oven so it would harden (note- do NOT forget that you have it in the oven and leave for work). Once the yolk was dried, we painted it yellow, cut eye holes and fit it on his head. For the egg white, we cut a hole in a white drape cloth and used a white comforter to fill in where his body showed (the drape cloth was a bit transparent). We gave him treats to "stay" and got egg-cellent results!
