Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Dog Costume

Cool Big-Dog costumes are hard to find, so a DIY it was!
Mac and I found all that we needed at the thrift store - a zip-up green children's hoodie, an orange, yellow, and brown t-shirts. I took the zipper off the front of the hoodie and tailored it to fit Mac a little better (bowed and shorter in the front to go around his deep chest but stop before he wees on it.) I using the t-shirts I added the bottom of the shell, orange ties and mask pieces, then quilted a circle of the brown t-shirt to give a turtle shell look and attached it to the hoodie with the zipper - now he has a backpack for when we go for walks in costume too! That little backpack also came in handy for holding his nun-chuck toy I threw together with some rope and fleece.

He's so happy to get the extra attention for being a hero in a half-shell, he comes running when I take his hoodie out to go somewhere!
