The Harry Potter Costume

A few years ago, we rescued Jax. We immediately fell in love with our fur baby. Our first Halloween with Jax we thought it would be fun to dress him up, so I made him a costume. The second year came around and I decided to make him another costume. Now that the third Halloween has come around, I decided to make him another costume although I wasn’t sure how to top the previous costumes.

Last month, my husband and I had the chance to go to Universal Studios and we enjoyed the Harry Potter world. After seeing so many people dressed up as a character from the world of Harry Potter, we knew that it would make for a fun pet Halloween costume!

Off to Michaels I went to buy some yarn for a scarf. We figured that between a scarf and some pipe cleaner glasses we’d be fine. Until we came up with the cape, white collar shirt and tie idea. Then we found a broom prop and a toy owl we had laying around and the costume was complete!

I ended up making the scarf, the white collar shirt is one my nephew outgrew, the tie I made from felt and the cape from remnants of black velvet I had at home.

I have to admit once we put everything together I was quite pleased with the end result!
