The Island Girl Costume

Beau is a Saint Berdoodle (Saint Bernard and Standard Poodle Mix) and due to her size not most pet costumes fit great. She is just under 2 years old so this is her 2nd Halloween and last year I had a lot of fun making her costume so I gave it another go this year. I initially purchased a "hula" costume that did not fit well so many adjustments were made to the skirt and coconut bra to get them to fit and then I made some additional pieces to add to the theme. I purchased a dog collar, ribbon, more flowers, velcro, and of course my trusty glue gun to add more flowers to her skirt, to make a lei (flowers on the collar) and ankle bracelets (flowers on the ribbon with velcro to fasten them on her legs) and the final added touch were her braids and beads to give her the official island look!
