This homemade costume for women entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Hope, the 'Gingerbread Girl' costume creator:
The idea for my Gingerbread Girl costume originally came from the board game Candyland and my love for all things sweet! Gingerbread cookies are one of my favorite treats so I decided to be one this year. Costume making is one of my favorite things to do, and I hope to be a costume designer in the future.
I created my headpiece using a Styrofoam wreath base, expanding foam, ribbon, and paint. The cherries are rubber poppers. My top is a sweater with candies made of felt and glitter. The skirt is made of felt with red ribbon trim sewn underneath.
