Immortan Joe Costume

This is my female version of Immortan Joe from Mad Max: Fury Road!

How it was made:
Mask: I started with a craft foam base that I then heated and pressed against my face to get the right shape. Then, I added the tubes (which came from a flexible flashlight) with hot glue. I sculpted the underlying shape of the mask using air-dry clay and sealed it with Mod Podge. False nails were used to make the teeth, then more clay to blend in with the base layer. I painted the under-layer, sealed it with Mod Podge, then used craft foam to add the metal accents on the mask. I used a paper towel to dab the silver paint on to give it a more metallic look than regular painting. Everything was then sealed again with a spray fixative.
Belt: I found a wheel at a thrift store to use as my base. I glued it to a binder divider, which I then tied to the belt. Then, I used craft foam to make the skull and the flames. I added a bit more depth to the skull with air dry clay. The foam pieces were sealed with Mod Podge then glued to the wheel. The chains were tied to a strand of muslin and then glued to the binder divider.
Armor: I dipped plastic sheets in hot water to make them malleable and molded them to the correct shape. The accessories are all found objects.
