This homemade costume for women entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Elisa, the 'Martian Spy Girl from Mars Attacks' costume creator:

I'm wearing a costume made from scratch, dedicated to one of my favorite movies of all time, Mars Attacks! Each of those swirls on my dress is hand-painted with Tulip fabric paint! The dress is made from a heavy lycra, and a hoop at the hem helps keep the mermaid shape!

Fantastic what a lot of hard work and creative effort must have gone into this outfit. Thinking of trying to make the same costume myself as impossible to find it to buy or hire. Welldone!
