Medusa the Gorgon Costume

I'm wearing a Medusa Gorgon costume complete with my "stone man" head. My costume is completely hand put together and the make up and everything else was hand done by me. I was searching for costumes online when I saw Medusa and thought how fun it would be to recreate! I really put a ton of creativity and time into this costume and it turned out exactly how I wanted! For the snake headpiece I just took two packs of dollar store snakes and spray painted them all the same green color. DON'T buy big snakes. They make look awesome but they would just not stay in my hair. Waste of $5 on those. I took a big pack of mini hair clips and just clipped the snakes to my hair. They stayed where I wanted them all night. For the crazy Medusa hair I just back teased my hair and used hair spray to keep it in place. It really made it easier for the snakes to stick. For my make up I did a layer of light green over my whole face and upper torso/arms. Then used an onion bag with the diamond shapes for a stencil. Be really careful to keep it still while applying a darker green overcoat or the snake skin lines will run together and look sloppy. I added a gold headband from cheap ribbon I bought at walmart for $2 and I picked up my dress from goodwill. For my stone man I used a Styrofoam mannequin head and glued a cheap goodwill Halloween wig onto it. After giving it a haircut I sprayed the whole thing with stone spray paint. Add some dark make up around the eyes, fake lashes, red nails/lipstick, and some fangs and you're good to go as Medusa the gorgon!!! GOOD LUCK and thanks for reading!! :)
