A word from Julie, the 'Mini-Golf' costume creator:
This summer, when I was playing a friendly game of mini-golf with some friends, I thought, "What a cool costume that would be." The windmill body is made from sheets of cardboard I bought at an art supply store. They are glued & tied together in a A-frame and covered in felt. The sides are open so I can climb in and out of it, and put my arms through to carry it. I covered two yard sticks with felt, glued plastic garden decorations for the actual blades, and attached the whole thing to a Lazy Susan (which was then glued on to the front) so the whole thing spins. Then, I found some green artificial grass and just attached it to the bottom of the windmill. I had a club & golf balls, so folks could actually play right through the costume. It was a lot of fun and not that difficult to make!
