A word from Christina, the 'Queen Elizabeth' costume creator:
I am wearing the costume in the photo. It took me 2 years to complete, everything is handmade including the sovereign orb, scepter, and crown. The idea came from a painting I once viewed of Queen Elizabeth in her coronation gown. I made the pattern for the corset bodice and skirt which are made out of bridal satin, after they were stenciled with a orb design and hand painted. The rose belt has over 2,000 pearls sewn on my hand. The rosary around my neck was made of clay and included Swarovski crystals. The crown was made of a cereal box and red velvet fabric with over 200 pearls and rhinestone. The scepter was a light for the driveway that I decorated with pearls, rhinestones and various fabrics. The orb was a plastic ornament that I painted inside with glitter and attached pearls and rhinestones. The standing collar was made from cardboard and hanger wire then attached around my neck with a ruff collar. Overall a 2 year project that has countless hours. This was a dream costume for me to make. I wore this costume at San Japan 2014
