This homemade costume for adults entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Caitlin, the 'Cousin Itt' costume creator:

I am wearing the costume. I got the idea from seeing photos on Pinterest, and my family decided to do Adams family. I first bought 6 bundles of tan yarn (875 yards/ bundle) at Joann fabrics, on sale 36$. I then set up 2 chairs spread to a distance of a little longer than my height and began u raveling the yarn, walking around the chairs in circles. I had my husband hold one side, while I cut the other side in the middle of the back of the chair, then cut the other side, so I had 2 ‘bunches’ of yarn per bundle. I saved one bundle for my t-shirt underneath. I got glued the yarn ends into a long strip of fabric and folded the fabric over to enclose the ends of the yarn. I did this with 2 large strips about 8” each. I also did the same thing making 4, 3” strips. I then took an old baseball cap and cut the bill off. I need something right and secure to hold the weight of the yarn all night. I got glued the large yarn strips to the hat (on top) then individually glued the small strips into places that needed extra. My shoulders seemed to stick out- so I unraveled more yarn, hot glued it onto a tan T-shirt (Amazon 9$) around the neckline front and back, and down the sleeves. I took black glasses I had and got glued yarn across the bottom of them to keep coverage when I split the yarn to be able to see. I placed the top hat on top of my yarn hat. I used Bobby pins on either side of my eyes to hold the strands back, and one small Bobby pin in The middle on the bridge of my nose.

Hello! Do you have pictures of this process. I have read it multiple times and unfortunately I am a visual person, so if you have any pictures you could share that would be amazing. Thank you!
