Couture Vampire Costume

My daughter, 5yrs, loves to be something beautiful but different every year! She usually chooses a Disney princess, but this year, she wanted to be different and unique, scary yet beautiful! So we decided to make her this couture Vampire! Luckily , my mother is an amazing seamstress ;) We got her about 4 yards of red metallic polyester ($4.99) and the same in red lace fabric ($5.99) for the overlay! She cut out the pattern of the shapes she wanted, making sure to make the skirt extra big, to give an elaborate dramatic look! We made an underskirt using an old hoola hoop, an old white slip and layered lots and lots of tulle, then covered it with some old satin material for comfort. This made the skirt really belle out like we wanted! We used an old white parasol we had, used some of the leftover red metallic material and covered the parasol to match the dress and then added a lace ruffle for that extra touch! We got her some red hair extension for extra "pop" ($10) and of course some vampire teeth ($2) and added some fake blood for finishing touches! This dress was meant to stun and impress and that's exactly what it did! Everyone was stopping her and taking pictures of how stunning she looked!
