This homemade costume for women entered our 2017 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Bianca, the 'Dark Sea Queen' costume creator:
This costume is flaunted by my model/friend Kiwi. This idea is an inspired look by a picture i seen on the internet of an evil queen. I used a wired hanger to create the structure of the seashell crown and then i glued wire to each seashells (seashells bought at Hobby Lobby $10) so that it could be wrapped around the crown and hold in place. The hair is a wig that cost $30 to make. The makeup was intended to look elegant because she is a queen yet dark and evil. I put small seashells all over her face and neck to emphasize her being a sea creature. I glued a big seashell near her heart to act as her outside seashell heart. I tried to glue it with latex but when that didn't hold up I had to use glue hair. The clothes were bought at Goodwill store. I wasted around $15 on the skirt, black glittery curtain and black shoes. Close to $65 was spent on this Halloween look.
