Edward Scissorhands Costume

My daughter Amaurie is wearing the costume. I bought great suit pants, white button down shirt, suspenders and a perfect good (brand new looking) black leather Chanel purse from the thrift store and I bought black gloves, card board and black and silver spray paint and plastic play knives from Walmart to make this costume. I couldn’t find silver circle rings at the time so I used safety pins that I had around the house. Now that I think about it I could have used the rings from my key chain. Oh well. So I took that beautiful Chanel purse that I could have use to pass down to my child and so on and I cut it up into straps of different widths and then glued them together from big to small on top of one another then adding the safety pins diagnaly on top of the straps to make the choker. On the ends of the choker I added some string I had around the house by slitting a small hole at the ends sliding the string threw and tying it together so the choker could fit around her neck. With the gloves I cut out some scissors shapes using real scissors to trace around and then cut them out from the card board then I spray painted the top black and the rest silver then I superglued them to the gloves, I also trace my daughters hands so I could put her hand cut outs in the gloves so the gloves wouldn’t get stuck together as I was supergluing the knives and scissor cut outs to the gloves. After everything dried I got her dressed teased her hair to make it look a little wild and did her make up by adding a little white/grey powder to her face to make her look pale then adding black/grey eye shadow around her eyes and the hallows of her cheeks so they could look sunken in and a little on her lips. I also darkened her eyebrows a little.
