Edward Scissorhands Costume

Our 5 year old son, Bryton wore the costume. Both of us(parents ) love this movie. His hair was getting long and we were deciding whether to cut it before school started or let it grow out while we decide what be would be for Halloween. We decided to let it keep growing so he could go as Edward Scissorhands. We used temporary black hair dye(spray) for his hair and styled it as Edward. The clothing includes a black pair of slacks, white long sleeve dress shirt, and black suspenders. The gloves were made from black children's gloves, with toilet paper roll cut out and hot glued for the top of the hands to give it a more robotic look. The fingers, we used plastic knives on each finger except the thumb (so he could hold the trick or treat bag). The pointer finger we used two plastic knives, drilled holes and screwed two knives together to give it the scissor look. We taped(electric tape) and hot glued them to each finger making them mobile. His face include white make up and black for around the eyes, along with foundation to make it look more like Eddy. The scars were made with grey make up and foundation. The overall cost was about 50$. Could have been cheaper if we went to a thrift shop for the clothes, but i bought brand new due to timing issues. The costume was a huge hit in every neighborhood and very worth it.
