This homemade costume for families entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Jen, the 'Edward Scissorhands, Bush and Hairdo' costume creator:

After changing his mind 100 times, my son decided he wanted to be a bush for Halloween. So, we bought a green hoodie, green sweatpants, green toque and glue gunned the heck out of fake foliage to cover the green material.

What goes with a bush I thought? Well, I raided my closet for all things black and spray painted a jacket, jiffy markered a couple old brown belts which I cut for around my neck and waist, wrapped some electrical tape around my legs, cut some finger tips out of black gloves and glue gunned large silver spray painted popsicle sticks cut to look like Edward Scissorhands. Even found a few washers and metal rings to glue on to random places for the full effect. My mom had the perfect wig and I used dollar store makeup for my face and white glue to make the scars.

Our costume could not be complete without our littiest family member. So our dog went as an Edward Scissorhands hairdo. We just cut one side of an old blonde wig and tied some of the hair into a big bow and believe it not one lowly hairpin held that sucker in place for a good 15 minutes. Long enough for a good laugh and long enough to snap a quick photo!

Where did you get this fake foliage? Love your execution of this and trying to find something similar that are hedge-like leaves but the only leaves I can find in bulk are more of an Ivy.
