Electric Mayhem Costume

We always do a theme as a family for our Halloween costumes. I'm obsessed... OBSESSED... with all things Muppets. Doctor Teeth and The Electric Mayhem seemed the most feasible option for incarnate Muppet costumes that I could actually make and pull off as accurately as possible.

I mostly used yarn and hot glue to make each individual piece. Animals eyes are made of minion goggles! His hair is yarn glued to a knit cap. Janice and Sgt. Pepper have hair glued inside their hats. Dr. Teeth's jacket is just a white one that I added duct tape to in order to create perfectly straight stripes. I found material to match his cuffs as best as I could (some things I just HAD to compromise a bit on, while being a purest as best as I could). And in order to make Dr. Teeth's eyes where they should be, glasses were the best option. Oh, and his and Sgt. Pepper's noses are large makeup application sponges! It was a week of staying up until 3am to get it done, but totally worth it! While I was piecing it together, buying parts here and there, I believe the total cost was around $150 for the 4 of us.
