This homemade costume for boys entered our 2014 Halloween Costume Contest.

A word from Cody, the 'Emmet from LEGO Movie' costume creator:

My son wanted to be Emmet from Lego Movie for Halloween but after searching every retailer with no luck I decided to make it myself. His costume is made mostly of styrofoam and cardboard. Many many long hours and late nights went in to this costume!

The hair actually comes off of the head like a normal lego hair piece. The head and hair are sculpted dense foam.

How did you get the head so smooth and shiny like plastic?

I coated it in resin thenot sanded it with 220 sand paper and painted it

This is amazing! My son wants to be Emmet for Halloween, and all the costumes I find at retailers are... let's say less than satisfying lol. You have inspired me to try to make one! Props to you, honestly incredible.
