Medusa Gorgona Costume

My daughter has never like store bought costumes. She always wants them to be home made so she can stand out in a crowd. This year was no different having studies greek mythology in school she fell in love with the idea that Medusa would turn people to stone. Her specifications where very precise "I want to be deadly and beautiful." I bought a summer dress on sale and simply added some sheer fabric strips dow the length of it. I used a spool of ribbon and plastic beads for trimming. The head piece was a combination of an old crochet beanie and 2 bags of spray painted dollar store snakes hot glued to it. She turned plenty of heads in that costume..thankfully no one turned to stone!
