A word from Michelle, the 'Fish Tank' costume creator:
My 8 yr old son loves the show "Tanked” and decided he wanted to be a fish tank this year. It is made out of 2 cardboard boxes, one for the aquarium and one for the stand. I used Home Depot yard sticks for the frame and for added detail on the stand. The background is for an aquarium purchased from a fish store. I purchased toy fish and hung them with fishing line and also hot glued plants to the inside of the costume.. I crumpled up Styrofoam and used red acrylic paint to make it look like red rocks on the bottom. I used vinyl from Jonne fabrics for the front and side pieces to make it look like glass and hot glued it to the frame. I created a hood for the light out of yardsticks and white poster board and then covered it with gorilla tape. I bought a battery operated closet light and gorilla taped it under the hood and it worked perfect. I painted everything with black paint and added a few details with foam board. His face is painted blue around the fish mask and we tried to get his hair blue as well but it didn't work so well.
