A word from Stephanie, the 'Flower Pot' costume creator:
This is my daughter, Emma in her costume I made for her. I always try to think of things that there won't be duplicates of, and this year, she was the only flower pot I saw!
I took a large plastic flower pot and cut the bottom out of it. I drilled holes in the front and back of the pot and took string and tied it in both ends. This allowed her to not have to constantly hold the pot up. I drilled additional holes and put silk flowers through there and zip ties them. I finished them off with some matching ribbons, so the zip ties were not visible. I then cut petals free hand out of pink felt and lined the inside with heavy backing. I embroidered the edges with embroidery floss. I slid them onto a ribbon matching the bows and tied it around her face. I then took green felt and free hand drew the leaves. I trimmed the edges with embroidery floss. I cut a slit on the underside so she could have the use of her hands.
It only took a few hours to make and I love how unique it is!
