This homemade costume for adults entered our 2013 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Rita, the 'Flying Purple People Eater' costume creator:
I made the body, hood, mitts, and boots of the costume using purple hairy fabric and a Bear sewing pattern. The mask was a plain white mask I bought in a craft store that I painted and added foam to make the eye with. I used yarn for the eyelashes. The horn and the claws on the mitts were made from Crayola modeling clay and then painted. The person wearing the costume is my son Jon.
