A word from Nicole, the 'Frankenstein' costume creator:
My 8 year old daughter is wearing this Frankenstein costume. The idea came from her telling me that she was going to be Frankenstein for Halloween. It took me a little while to figure out how to make this stand out, but I did it. I got her clothes from good will and the patches were made from scrap pieces. I used black and white safety pins from the dollar store, 3 boxes for her head and feet, paint, hot glue, elastic, 4 bolts, rope, finger nail Polish, temporary tattoos, her hair was made from a piece of hairy fabric from the store and 4 sets of battery operated lights. To make this, I cut the clothes in a zip zag pattern, safety pinned the patches on, I put fingernail Polish on the gray shirt underneath, I glued 2 sets of green lights on the inside of her jacket and 2 sets to the inside of her pants to make it look like she was glowing green. For her shoes, I used 2 boxes and painted them black, added the rope for shoelaces and attached the bolts. I also added a piece of elastic on the inside to hold her regular shoe on the inside of the box. The bolts were made from a piece of wood. I used a piece of wire covered in felt to hold them on her neck. For her head I used a box and painted it green. I attached a piece of elastic to hold it on her head. Her hair was glued on and hair sprayed so it stayed flat. I put 2 temporary tattoos on the outside of the box. The rest of her is all green, black and white makeup. The makeup was put on her face, hands and legs. Everyone loved her costume.
