Garden Gnome sitting on a Mushroom Costume

My 5 year old son loves garden gnomes so my husband and I made him an illusion costume. It was definitely not an easy one. We used red fleece for the top and wrapped it around a pool noodle. We used regular red material for the bottom and sewed it to the top. We did make a harness for him to wear under his shirt to help it stay up. For the stem I just used white fleece and sewed it to white pants to make a "skirt". We sewed the shirt and pants to the mushroom. We made his hat and belt from fleece as well. He loves his costume and it has gotten laughs everywhere we have gone.
