Garden Gnome Costume

I am wearing my costume and I got the idea from the Gnome book (and cartoon show) I used to watch as I child. I am definitely a fan of the comfortable warm costumes for Halloween and this fit the bill. I made a blue tunic out of a soft velvet fabric, the hat out of red felt, and the beard out of a long fur. The hair and sideburns are sewn into the hat and the beard is on an elastic band. The belt has a small felt satchel filled with wild flowers to add extra authenticity.The belly could either be real (great for a pregnancy costume) or a pillow will work just fine. I added prosthetic ears to complete the effect and viola!
