A word from Rochelle, the 'Aliens' costume creator:
My son's Ernest and Joseph, the boys. I sat down and drew each one on a scrap piece of paper and used that as a guide. First the "Eyeball Blue" Head piece is a full roll foam from local Craft Store that I folded here and there and hot glued in place then just trimmed it to fit my sons head. I bought Blue and Black spray paint and cut out stencils for the shapes then outlined with Fabric paint. The Eyeball I had to make from scratch using half a candy ball the clear side and wire tie striped for the pupil made of black felt so it moved whenever he did. For the body I used blue and silver "christmas garland" and 2 wreath wires with cardboard to hold in each in place then glued googly eyes on with Hot Glue, the shirt just a black longselve w/google eye glued on and the pants are silver duct tape wrapped over pants and snow boots. For the Green Being, Same with the head piece only I cut out the shape and glued the foam in the back sizing it to my sons head, then cut some ears and added eyebrows made of black feather for effect and eys and face are felt. I used a mixture of green/yellow spray paint for the backround and black spray paint for the lines. Then added fabric paint to go over in sparkle. The Head ornament I found at the local craft store over in the floral dept cut it to fit. For the body I took a roll of foam and folded over cut a hole for his head and arms then hot glued it in place, pretty much just eyeballed the pieces made from foam ( I love the stuff) Also cut out feet and sprayed them with Green spraypaint drew in toes. I used halloween themed fabric for his cape and put a green longsleve shirt with Black pants. It took me about a week to finish both costumes. Thanks for the consideration hope you like my Costumes!
