Bumblebee Family Costume

These are the family costumes we wore to a local Halloween Festival. I worked on them at night for 3 days and there was absolutely no sewing involved. The bumblebee costumes were made with fleece, felt, and a glue gun. The wings are made from wire hangers and tulle. The beehive was made from pipe insulation and duct tape I purchased at the local home improvement store and a fleece blanket I purchased for $4.88 and cut into strips, hot glued into place. The rings were then hot glued together. It is held into place with wide ribbon straps hot glued in place. There are 91 bees glued to the costumes-they were made from 2 sizes of black pompons glued together and 2 pieces of yellow chenille stems wrapped around. The beehive costume cost around $40 to make.
