Cars Land Sippy Cone Costumes

My friend and I wanted to go to Disneyland's Mickey's Halloween Party. Our kids were going as Jack, Sally and Zero so we wanted something original...something no one had done before. We thought that since Cars Land had just opened, we should be CONES!!! I went to work trying to figure out ways to construct them, then I found something online that said we should use poster board! I wrapped poster board into a cone shape and just kept adding layers until it was the size I wanted keeping it together with packing tape. Then I slipped it over my head and had my husband feel and mark where my shoulders hit so that I could cut hole out. Once that was done, I slid it back on and felt where my face hole should be. My husband took a blow torch to some light weight PVC pipe and bent it to look like a straw. He wrapped red electrical tape around it for the stripes. I got a huge piece of foam insulation and cut out a base, painted it orange to match and slipped it over the cone. Then I cut tabs into the very bottom of the paper cone, folded them up and taped them to the bottom of the foam base. I printed out the Cars Land logo and glued it to the front of the cone. VOILA...Sippy Cones! They were a HIT at Disneyland!
