A word from Tenisha, the 'Edward Scissorhands and a Flower Pot' costume creator:
This was one of the easiest costumes! Edward's outfit was thrifted ($5) and the hands were made from cardboard--I traced a pair of scissors onto cardboard, cut them out, painted them, and hot glued them to black gloves (spray paint and gloves- $5). My son thought this was awesome. I sprayed his hair black ($2) and put a little white paint on his face ($1). My daughter was a flower pot waiting to be trimmed. I bought a flower pot big enough for her to fit into ($6) and cut out the bottom of it. I put holes in the front and back and put fabric pieces through the hole to act as suspenders. I used a hot glue gun to glue the fake leaves around the inside of the pot ($4 for plants) and safety pinned some to her jacket, then gave her face a little yellow paint ($1). The flower face is a hooded jacket that I found at a thrift store ($3) and was the initial inspiration for the outfit. A total of under $30 for a fantastic costume for two (or more!)
