Genie Flying On Magic Carpet Costume

I’m wearing the costume to my works 2017 Halloween costume contest. I got the idea from Pinterest which mostly little kids did it. The hardest part about the costume is that you want the legs to be proportional or they look odd, but the weight causes the board to be front heavy. I used cardboard for the carpet but had to strengthen it with dowel rods on the bottom. I got carpet looking material and glued to the top and bordered the carpet with gold glitter duct tape. The tassels are plain yarn. I got the pants from Walmart in the pajama isle and got a shirt from Walmart as well. I added all the gold trim to the shirt myself. I stuffed panty hose with doll stuffing and molded it to match my legs. You then cut a hole in the butt of the pants and I glued down to keep from coming up. To hide my legs I put red thick sheet around my legs and then put red and gold tulle around the border to really give an illusion. I used fishing line that went from the front of the board and Velcro’s to the back of my belt for easy removal. Most people put the board on a cart but I work a desk job so needed the ability to lower myself and easily remove. Bought other accessories or made them myself!
