A word from Megan, the 'Georgie and Pennywise' costume creator:
Pictured are our dogs Meryl (depicting Georgie) and Marley (depicting Pennywise from Stephen King's classic "It"). The idea to dress them up this way came to me with no hesitation. Strangely enough, we refer to Marley already as a "killer"-simply based on her size/little dog syndrome. She has a larger-than-life attitude and terrifies dogs that are 5 times her size. Meryl's adaptation of movie victim, Georgie, worked out perfectly because she is actually a real-life tripod. We found her as a stray; she had been hit by a car and suffered a leg injury that was too far from repair. The vet elected to amputate the leg and with some generous TLC, she quickly overcame her lacking. For those unfamiliar with the movie and/or book, the story starts with Georgie losing his paper boat in the rain down into the sewer. Pennywise the Dancing Clown, lurking in the sewer, coaxes Georgie into befriending him and retrieving his paper boat back. Upon doing so, Georgie's arm is severed by the clown's gruesome jaws and yet another child of the town goes "missing".
