Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf Costume

Our 1 1/2 year old daughter Haley loves her "puppy" so much that we knew we had to incorporate him into the costume. So what better than Little Red Riding Hood - everyone thinks our dog is a wolf anyway. Her dress was picked up at a local thrift store along with some tights and black buckle shoes. It made the apron using simple cotton fabric cut into a square with longer pieces at the top that could simply tie around her waist to hold it in place. I made the hooded cloak out of fleece fabric for ease and warmth. I cut holes along the top of the fabric so that I could weave a longer piece of the fleece fabric through to create a tie for around her shoulders. This also served to pull the fabric in closer around her neck to keep her warm. Total cost of costume about $10 and the cutest Red Riding Hood I ever did see!
