A word from Deborah, the 'Midget' costume creator:
Deborah (me) is wearing the costume. In the 70's I saw a tv show with some guys using their belly button as a mouth to whistle a tune. I decided to make an entire face using my belly. I made the hat with cardboard I got off of palettes at a local store. I covered it with cloth and ribbon. I made the brim from a metal wreath I got from Jo-Anne Fabrics. The body of the costume is a shirt worn from below the belly to the knees where I put on capris pants and tightened them with a belt. The hair is sewed to a shirt under the hat area and the glasses are tied with ribbon around my back. The mustache is glued on with spirit gum. Total materials that I had to buy that wasn't around the house was about $15.00.
