This homemade costume for families entered our 2015 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Melissa, the 'Monsters Inc.' costume creator:
Once monsters inc was decided, I found blue and purple fur on sale or $2/yd ad started on the body. The purple spots are each hand sewn on the body. The head structure primarily consists of a baseball hat, parts from milk jugs, and parts from egg cartons. The feet also have egg carton and milk jug in their construction. The styrofoam eyes were easily painted after several layers of mod podge. The hands ha claws and fur, hand sewn onto gloves.
The door costume was designed with fabric markers and a PVC frame.
Total cost was approximately $50. I spent at least 70 hrs on this project.
