A word from Athena, the 'Phoenix Warrior' costume creator:
These are pictures of me wearing my costume that I 100% made from scratch. the glue gun was my best friend over the past months. the base of the head was a wire frame stuffed with tinfoil and foam, then I papermachaed over. the beak I laid clay over the frame and then gold leafed it. the eyes are electric plasma orbs that are battery powered, and there are also fiber optics in between the feathers on the head in the ruffle collar and in the shirt. using scraps form old clothes and a belt that way worn out, I made the collar and skirt. I bought a scarf from the thrift store and used it in the front and back of the feather skirt and the scraps to wrap around my legs though the shoes. the staff was a hockey stick I found and decorated. there are red rooster feathers of different lengths all throughout the costume, orange peacock feathers in the head as well as red and natural colored pheasant feathers. it has taken me about 2 months total to construct and complete the costume and around $100 total on supplies, batteries and feathers. the idea was just something that came to me, looking at trippy warriors and animal mask type of costumes out there this one is completely organic and original! thank you for considering me :)
