A word from Liz, the 'The Beast' costume creator:
This is The Beast from Over the Garden Wall! I began by carving false shoulders from styrofoam and attaching them to a bike helmet with duct tape and Goop. I cut two circles into a styrofoam head and glued in two tap lights for the eyes. The antlers are cut from art board. The eye lights have been filtered with paper lenses. I lightly coated the face in spackle to give it some texture and painted the whole head and antlers black. The head is attached to the helmet with glue, tape, and a harness made of a bra strap and twill tape. The first layer of fabric over the shoulder is a thin, gauzy shroud I cut from the skirt of a dress discarded from theatrical stock: I can see out, but other people can't see my face under it. Atop that is a velveteen cape from ebay and a fur collar from amazon. The end result is a wearable yet intimidating costume that makes me look much taller than I am. I'm very proud of it!
