Hedwig the Baby Owl Costume

Being on a super low budget with no time, I had to come up with a costume for our 18 month old. Our 3 year old demanded to be a wizard from Harry Potter so I decided to make a complimentary Hedwig to go with her outfit. All this easy costume requires is a onesie (or hoodie or t-shirt), felt, hot glue and scissors (though I preferred a rotary cutting tool). The complete instructions can be found at my blog. I simply cut out quarter circles from an old t-shirt to serve as wings, cut out and glued felt feathers and attached it to the onesie. Not only were our toddlers the hit of the local fall festival, but the costume excited people causing them to ask how I made it because they wanted to also try DIY! Our kids are thrilled and so happy to be matching.
