Hot Air Balloon Costume

This is my daughter Lilly-Anna. This her 2015 costume. She saw hot air balloons on our summer vaction and wanted to go on one but they said she was to small at the time. So around Halloween I asked her what she wanted to be and she said a hot air balloon. I thought how am I gonna make it. I looked online for some ideas and pulled them all together to make this. This is made out of a wooden basket bought from Wal-Mart $(15) with the bottom cut out of it. I them stapled/ super glued wooden doules out of each corner that I bought from ace hardware ($10). For the bottom and top ring I used coat hangers. I then put a wooden x at the top of it to stablize it. I used about $40 worth of balloon throughout the 5 times she wore it. Each time she wore it I used about 100 long balloons and had to pump each on up and tape them on in the shape I needed it. I used spray paint to paint the doules black ($5). I used ribbon and tape to make the gold string above her head. All together this costume cost me roughly $80 with materials listed above and other miscellaneous materials. She was the center of attention and everyone loved it, including her!
