A word from Christina, the 'Hot Dog Vendor' costume creator:
This is my 12 year old Yorkie/child Sneetchy. We adopted her 6 years ago from a rescue that saved her from the pound when she was left there after becoming paralyzed in the rear. My husband and I made the majority of the costume and bought a pet chuckie costume for front part, which we altered. The cart is made out of a cardboard box, which was fitted over her custom Ruff Rollin wheelchair. The cart has a grill made of metal with childrens plastic hot dogs on it. Under the grill my husband used led lights and foam chunks painted black to make it look like hot embers. The umbrella and the mustard and ketchup are American Girl accessories. I also purchased hot dog patches for the umbrella and front of the Chuckie costume shirt. The costume total was probably around 50.00 not including her wheelchair, which was over $500.00. Sneetchy is the most outgoing little girl and is even certified thru Therapy Dogs International as a therapy dog who visits those in hospitals and nursing homes.
