Hungry Hungry Hippos Couples Costume

Trying to be a couples costume is hard. I did not want it to be corny but wanted it to be cute/funny/original. Therefore Hungry Hungry Hippos was born and we got to paper mache-ing.

We put the head piece together with cardboard and balloons on top of a ballcap. Then fashioned the body piece with posterboard and balloons. Then all was covered with two - three layers of paper mache then covered in blue and pink duck tape.

Everyone knew what we were and I was so excited it turned out as well as it did. It did take a little more effort than he would have liked, but maybe a week and a half later- hippos!
