This homemade costume for girls entered our 2019 Halloween Costume Contest.
A word from Debi, the 'Ice Cream Truck Transformer' costume creator:
My daughter Khloe wanted me to make her a ride-on Ice Cream Truck this year but I didn't have the brains at the moment to do that for her. A cousin of ours gave me the idea of turning the truck into a transformer when she told me she was doing Optimus Prime and Bumble be for her sons.
I watched a lot of DIY videos of Optimus Prime and Bumble Bee and learned bits and pieces to build into the ice cream truck concept.
This is all handmade by me and made only of cardboard, some foam board, hot glue and duck tape. Its lightweight and I attached backpack straps so she could easily carry it around.
She has knee pads and wrist guards to protect her each time she transformed. I also put her real sprinkles on her eyebrows using eyelash glue.
I attached battery operated lights and I also created sound clips for when she transformed which I attached to a portable speaker and controlled from my phone.
She was an absolute hit with her original costume!
