A word from Victoria, the 'Ice Queen' costume creator:
Tammy Lynn is the model chosen for our Ice Queen costume. She is a wheatgrass & record lover, mother of 3 & grandmother of 3 who still knows how to rock and roll. Kathy (makeup artist) and Victoria (costume designer/photographer) were inspired by Tam's platinum hair, crystal eyecolor, and her natural skin palette. They thought she would make the perfect Ice Queen after hearing that Tam's grandchildren would think that she was Elsa. Two different versions of the costume was created. The first feminine look was more traditional Regal with a mix of tribal, inspired by classic art of fairies and native princesses. While the second look, a little more masculine, paid an homage to singer/artist David Bowie, with reptilian elements incorporated, the idea was: What would the Goblin King look like as an Ice Queen? Victoria handmade the two headpieces for both looks out of hot glue, plastic materials, actual tree branches, feathers, earrings and used spray paint to give it an all white finish. Kathy accentuated Tam's brows, gave her a paler & greyer complexion, and used rhinestones and glitter to create a more ethereal feel. Witch-like finger tips from Michaels were used to extend Tam's fingernails, that were then spray painted white. Her hands were painted & blended to match. The fur was an inexpensive rug that was cut to turn into as a fur cape for the first look, and slung over one shoulder for the second look. This costume was lot of fun to design!
